Discover the Biodiversity Hotspot of Currumbin Eco-Parkland

27 November 2024

Join David Jinks from Gold Coast Botany, a key member of the MRA consortium, as he takes you on a journey through the diverse ecosystems that make up Currumbin Eco-Parkland.

In this video, David highlights three critically endangered ecosystems that thrive within this unique area. First, explore the Coastal Swamp Oak, a vital species found along the flats and creek lines. Next, uncover the rare Lowland Sub-Tropical Rainforest, an ecosystem that has been severely degraded and now exists in only 30% of its original range, with several remnants nestled within the Eco-Parkland. Finally, learn about the expansive Blackbutt Forest (Eucalyptus pilularis), which covers a significant portion of the property, contributing to its rich biodiversity.

Currumbin Eco-Parkland plays a crucial role in preserving these important ecosystems.
