Construction Activities: Theodore Street and MacArthur Avenue

The diagram below outlines BMD plans for works in February 2025, as part of the Northshore Brisbane Street Renewal Program. Timing and completion of works is subject to weather and site conditions.

Work hours

Working hours are Monday to Thursday 6.30 am to 6.00 pm and Friday and Saturday 6.30am to 4.00pm, excluding public holidays, in accordance with Brisbane City Council work hours.

K Shed Demolition

During the demolition of K Shed, a ‘general exclusion zone’ involving a pedestrian detour across MacArthur Avenue will be implemented near the work area. Other temporary traffic detours may also be required. For your safety, please follow signage and traffic control directions.

Work impacts

• Noise, dust and vibrations: these works will generate noise, dust and vibrations. Measures will be in place to monitor and manage noise, dust and vibration.
• Increased activities: there will be an increase in workforce and construction vehicle movements around the work areas. Equipment in use will involve, but not be limited to, excavators, haulage vehicles, small hand tools, concrete saws, generators, water trucks and misting cannons, skid steers and vac trucks.
• Utilities impacts: construction activities may temporarily impact supply of utilities and services. We will provide advance written notification to properties where utilities or services will be impacted.

Throughout construction, we will continue to provide notifications of upcoming work, monitor our activities, and adjust our controls where needed.
