BMD Team Steps Up to Reopen MacArthur Avenue After Storm

4 February 2025

On the morning of Thursday, January 9, the BMD Street Renewal Program team sprang into action to clear fallen trees blocking MacArthur Avenue, near Superordinary, after strong winds swept through the area the night before.

The team noticed the fallen trees early in the morning and quickly notified Brisbane City Council. Council advised a tree lopping crew could attend later in the morning. However, with vehicles attempting to navigate dangerously around the fallen trees, the BMD team, together with Avada traffic control, stepped in to ensure safety.

Avada set up emergency traffic control while BMD cleared the trees from the road and relocated them to the BMD project site. This quick action allowed the road to be safely reopened by mid-morning.

Thank you to the BMD team for their swift response.
